We arrived safely in York at lunchtime after two very smooth train journeys. The children were brilliant and very patient at the tricky moments of boarding and alighting trains, they made us feel very proud.
The afternoon has been spent at York Minster. Our guide Natalie was brilliant at helping us understand the history of York and the Minster and took us on a journey through the ages. There were lots of ooo's and ah's as we explored the different areas of the Minster. We had time for a play in the sunshine in Dean Park at the Minster and even watched a Peregrine Falcon trying to encourage its young to fledge from the nest on the balcony of the Minster.
We were made to feel very welcome and evening prayer and the children were impeccably behaved.
Everyone is now fed and watered and getting ready for bed - sleep might be another matter!!!
It looks like our M & S volunteers have done a wonderful job in the school garden with Abi and Pete and the children - please read the next news article to see what they've been up to.
