Dear Parents, Carers and Community,
Our local Covid Recovery Centre is being set up at The Sands Centre in Carlisle and will open this Friday. This is for patients who are recovering from the virus but need a bit more TLC before they go home. Currently the walls are plain white and Claire Martindale, who is one of our parents and a nurse working for the NHS, has asked if the Orton school community could help decorate the walls with brightly coloured pictures. These could be anything you wanted them to be, the key is to help spread some love and hope by making them bold and brightly coloured.
Claire will be popping a box in the school Summer house either today or tomorrow and you can leave your pictures in there. She will pop by on her way to work on Friday morning to collect any pictures and will leave the box there next week for more picture donations. Please help our local NHS and recovery centre out by getting involved, it would be lovely for the patients to have pictures drawn, coloured and painted by our local community in our local recovery centre. Children and adults can get involved and feel free to include your name on the picture and where you are from. You can do as many pictures as you like, the more the merrier. All pictures will be laminated before being displayed.
This is a little thing we can all do to help others at this time. If you were lucky enough to receive an Easter egg from Westmorland's very kind gesture last week this would be a little way of giving back to the community.
Please send a photo of you with your picture to Mrs Green MrsG@orton.cumbria.sch.uk to pop on the school website before you pop it in the box.
Take care and please get in touch if you need anything.
